Blood Pressure Monitors – Why You Should Consider Monitoring At Home

Of all the organs of our body the heart is without doubt the most critical and rightly so as, if it stops pumping blood around the body and delivering vital oxygen to the other organs, including the brain, death will occur very quickly.

Despite its importance however many of us pay little if any attention to the health of our heart until forced to do so, when it is often too late. And yet keeping a check on the heart by simple routine measurement of our blood pressure could not be easier.

As with most things in life, if the heart starts to run into problems then there will be warning signs giving us time to take remedial action and these warning signs often come in the form of abnormally high or low blood pressure.

The principle role of the heart is to take freshly oxygenated blood and pump it through the main arteries and then through a network of smaller blood vessels to all parts of the body. As the heart contracts forcing blood out into the arteries pressure is exerted on the walls of the arteries. Then, as the heart relaxes and its chambers refill ready to pump again the pressure in the arteries falls.

By measuring these two pressure levels we can get an indication of just how well the heart is pumping blood around the body and thus see whether or not it is working normally.

Until quite recently it was necessary to visit the doctor's office to have your blood pressure measured. The doctor would place a cuff around your upper arm roughly at the level of the heart. He would then place his stethoscope over the brachial artery where it runs close to the surface of the skin on the inside of your arm at the elbow and proceed to inflate the cuff.

As the cuff is inflated it tightens around the arm preventing blood from flowing through the brachial artery. The pressure in the cuff, which is indicated by a mercury manometer attached to the cuff, is slowly released and the point at which blood starts flowing through the artery, and which the doctor hears as a "whoosing" sound through his stethoscope, is noted. This is the point at which the pressure in the cuff equals the pressure in the artery as the heart pumps blood through it and is known as the systolic pressure.

The doctor then continues to slowly release the pressure in the cuff and to monitor the sound of blood being pumped through the artery until no sound at all is detected. At this point the manometer indicates the pressure in the artery as the heart is at rest and refilling ready to pump again. This lower pressure is known as the diastolic pressure.

Blood pressure will vary from person to person and will also rise and fall within each of us depending on a variety of factors such as the time of day, our level of activity, whether we are feeling stressed, our general state of health and whether or not we are currently taking particular forms of medication.

For the average person at rest however systolic blood pressure will be around 120 mm Hg (millimeters of mercury) and diastolic blood pressure will be 80 mm Hg. As an indication of the degree of variation between individuals, and within any one person, the normal range of systolic pressure is considered to be 90 – 135 mm Hg and the normal range of diastolic pressure is 50 – 90 mm Hg.

If your blood pressure falls outside these readings, then your doctor will need to investigate further to discover why your blood pressure in either unusually high or unusually low.

Since most of us do not visit the doctor on a regular basis, and only venture into the surgery when we absolutely have to, it can often be many months, or even years, between blood pressure checks and we could well be walking around blissfully unaware that we have a time bomb ticking away inside us.

Today however there is a whole range of very simple to operate and relatively inexpensive blood pressure monitors available for use in our own homes and absolutely no reason at all for not keeping a regular eye on our most valuable organ.

So, before tragedy strikes either you or one of your loved ones, why not take a few minutes to check out the range of blood pressure monitors available and buy yourself some peace of mind.

Liquid Vitamin Supplements

Most people do not realise that the body can absorb the nutrients from liquid vitamin supplements easier than from tablets. It is estimated that liquid vitamin supplements are actually absorbed at least five times better than regular vitamin pills. Of course, there are many other benefits that liquid vitamin supplements have over pills. For example, the liquid vitamin supplements are easier to swallow. This alone makes liquid vitamin supplements preferable to pills, especially for children and anyone else who has trouble taking pills of any type.

Young children are often unable to gather sufficient nutrients from the foods that they eat but it is almost impossible for them to take vitamin supplements in pill form. Liquid vitamin supplements are ideal because they can be given by a dropper, straight into the child’s mouth or even added to their regular bottle of water or juice to ensure that they receive all of the vitamins that they need to grow. For exactly the same reason, liquid vitamin supplements are perfect for anyone who is unwell and not able to eat properly.

Despite the best efforts of most people it is likely that most are not getting sufficient vitamins and minerals from their diet and that is where liquid vitamin supplements are beneficial. The vitamins in many common pill supplements are actually packed too densely. This leads to a lot of the vitamins not being broken down and absorbed as they should do whereas liquid vitamin supplements do not have the same problem. The body is therefore able to absorb far more of the nutritional value from liquid vitamin supplements than it can from those in the traditional pill form. In fact, the body only absorbs about 10-20% of the nutrients from vitamin pills compared to around 80-90% that it can absorb from liquid vitamin supplements.

Another benefit of liquid vitamin supplements is that they often contain more than one type of vitamin and other nutrients. Vitamin pills traditionally contain only one which means that you are going to have to take a whole handful of vitamin pills to get the same benefits as you do from many of the liquid vitamin supplements. Liquid vitamin supplements offer far more convenience and effectiveness for supplying the body with the vitamins that it needs. The cost of buying the equivalent number of vitamin pills to obtain the same results is also far more than that of liquid vitamin supplements.

10 Ways To Get More Antioxidants Into Your Diet

It’s no secret that antioxidants are incredibly beneficial to good health. It’s believed the antioxidants in food can help prevent cancer, reverse or slow aging, enhance your immune system, increase your energy and improve heart and other organ health.

Given all we know about antioxidants and their beneficial properties, it’s amazing more people don’t get enough fruits and vegetables, the primary sources of antioxidants. Experts recommend a minimum of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily, but say getting 7-10 servings is best.

There are 10 steps to getting more antioxidants into your diet.

1.Breakfast

Breakfast doesn’t have to be a hurried toaster tart on the way out the door. Throw some strawberries, 100% juice and yogurt into a blender; pour your delicious mixture into a cup and head out the door. You’ve just added one to three servings of fruits to your daily intake. Or throw some berries onto your cold or hot cereal.

Say you truly have no time in the morning and usually grab something on the run. Even the Golden Arches can be some help here. Order a fruit and yogurt parfait and some apple slices. For about $2, you have a breakfast providing one to two servings of fruit.

2.Snacks

Here’s an easy way to get more antioxidants in your diet. How about a handful of raisins for a snack, or some fresh red grapes? Dip some strawberries in yogurt. You’ll feel decadent, but the berries provide the color you’re looking for. Need crunch? How about some baby carrots dipped in hummus? Consider a handful of pecans for crunch and a nice antioxidant boost.

3.Lunch and dinner

It might sound trite, but adding a salad to each of your main daily meals can add loads to your overall health and well-being. They don’t have to be boring, and they don’t have to be just salad greens. If you’re going classic, add some red pepper slices to your green salad, some tomatoes to the Greek salad, or tart cranberries to your field greens. Whip up a broccoli salad for lunch, or be adventurous and mix up a rice salad with a mélange of fresh vegetables like string beans, tomatoes, peppers and red onions.

4.Dessert

Berries, with or without whipped cream or chocolate are a wonderful way to end your day of healthy, antioxidant-rich eating.

5.Beverages

Replace your soda with tea or coffee, both of which boast antioxidant compounds. Have a glass of wine with dinner, or for a real change of pace, pour a glass of chai tea.

6.Think outside the box

We know we can get our antioxidant fix from berries, salads and the like, but researchers say powerful antioxidants can also be found in a variety of unexpected foods, like russet potatoes, artichokes, and small red beans. The beans, in fact, may have more antioxidant power than blueberries, experts say. So to your rice salad full of vegetables, add some beans for even more antioxidants.

7.Cook lightly

You think you’re being good, preparing vegetables each night for your family’s dinner. But if you’re overcooking the vegetables, you’re cooking out a lot of the beneficial properties of the antioxidants. Steam (don’t boil) vegetables, and stop cooking them when they will have all of their bright color and most of their bite.

8.Plant a garden

Experts believe that people who plant and harvest vegetables from their own yards are far more likely to eat more vegetables and fruits than people who buy their produce from the store. So plant a garden, watch it grow and eat the fruits (literally) of your labor.

9.Take your healthy diet on vacation

Too many of us consider going on vacation an opportunity to take a vacation from everything, including healthy eating. Think of vacation as a way to be introduced to new foods. Order an interesting vegetable dish in a restaurant and then pay attention to how the chef prepared the dish.

10.Learn to cook

If you’re cooking, you’re not opening bags and boxes. Cooking involves scrubbing and peeling vegetables, preparing whole foods and paying attention to how things are cooked. If you’re ordering out every night, you’re far less likely to be eating the whole foods and natural fruits and vegetables that provide the base for our antioxidant intake.

Benefits of Liquid Vitamins

Vitamins and minerals can be absorbed by the body in a number of ways. They first enter our body through the food we eat. Secondly, we can take vitamin supplements to increase the amount of pertinent vitamins and minerals. There are different methods of taking medication and one of the most common methods is absorbing it in its liquid form. Do the advantages of liquid vitamins far outweigh its disadvantages – if there are any? Read on and find out.

Better or Easier Absorption for Kids
Although liquid vitamins may taste worse than vitamins in flavored, chewable tablet forms, they are however easier to absorb. There are numerous cases in which children have problems with choking, breathing and swallowing simply because of their inability to absorb medication or vitamins in this form.

This is the same problem as well for adults who have lost their ability to control their jaws or are unable to digest anything that is not in liquid form.

Liquid Vitamins are More Effective
Because of its form, liquid vitamins can be assimilated immediately into the blood stream for a more systemic administration of the vitamin and its average absorption rate is approximately 90 to 98%. It is also three to five times more concentrated than vitamin pills and this lead to higher bio-activity and greater therapeutic benefits.

The Link between Antioxidants and Liquid Vitamins
Have you ever wondered whether or not liquid vitamins contained oxidants as well? Vitamins E, C and A are examples of antioxidants and they are commonly found in vitamin supplements but what about liquid vitamins?

And the answer is an absolute YES. Liquid vitamins must in fact contain such antioxidants or they’ll prove to be ineffective compared to other vitamins. Remember that the most important of all antioxidants – Vitamins A, C and E – are not internally produced by the body so they must be a regular fixture in our diet. Antioxidants are our main defense against effects of damaging oxidation reactions. Antioxidants are our best weapons against suffering from any form of cancer. Without it, we are basically weaker and less healthy.

Liquid Vitamins versus Digestive Acids
One reason why people refuse to acknowledge the benefits of liquid vitamins is because of the supposed destruction by digestive acids of any vitamin or mineral that it does not recognize as part of the process of digestion. The opposite is, in fact true. Our digestive system actually prefers or is able to better absorb liquid vitamins and minerals rather than those made in pill or capsule form.

A vitamin pill or tablet has to be digested completely before it can benefit the human body. It must be broken down into absorbable nutrients or only up to thirty percent of it will be absorbed by the human body. Liquid vitamins however provide a better and easier solution for the digestive system. Because it does not depend in any way on mechanical digestion, an estimated 90% of it can be absorbed directly by the body.

It’s vital to remember that digestion does not mainly function to destroy vitamins and minerals but rather to transform them into substances it can use to improve the general constitution of the body.

Liquid Vitamins: Toxic or Not?
Another problem posed is the amount of colloidal minerals found in liquid vitamins. Are they harmful or not?

In truth, even plants and fruits contain a trace of such minerals in them. Apples, for instance, contain 3-5 mg of aluminum as it’s one of the most abundant elements that can be found in the surface of the Earth. But do you hear anyone telling you that apples are dangerous to your health? On the contrary, what we are more likely to hear is that an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

And so it must be with liquid vitamins as well. Containing a slight amount of colloidal mineral doesn’t mean it’s bad for our health right away. Colloidal minerals, are above all else, naturally occurring elements and can not therefore be avoided.

You Have a Choice
At the end of the day, however, it’s still up to you whether or not you wish to take vitamin supplements in liquid or solid form. What really matters is what you prefer and which will ultimately work better for you.

Heal your life - change your thoughts

The cells, tissues and organs have a mind of their own and respond most powerfully to the thought patterns in our minds.

It is important to have a holistic approach towards wellness, including mind, body and spirit in the programme, but all these need one fundamental change and that is a change in the way we think about ourselves and others.

The moment we begin to read, write, and speak positive affirmations daily to ourselves we will begin to manifest a change in our surroundings and in ourselves.

One of the most powerful affirmations that I have read is the following one which is an extract from Louise L. Hay's book YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE.

In the infinity of life where I am,
all is perfect, whole, and complete.
I believe in a power far greater than I am
that flows through me every moment of every day.
I open myself to the wisdom within,
knowing that there is only One Intelligence in this Universe.
Out of this One Intelligence comes all the answers,
all the solutions, all the healings, all the new creations.
I trust this Power and Intelligence,
knowing that whatever I need to know is revealed to me,
and that whatever I need comes to me
in the right time, space, and sequence.
All is well in my world.

Green Tea: Natures Miracle Heath Drink

Tea have been found to have powerful effects on levels of cholesterol in the blood stream and on your health in general. Green tea in particular can also help in battling cancer.

“Camellia Sinensis” or Green Tea is rich in Catechins, which are antioxidants. The best variety is said to originate from tea farms in China, especially those protected from pesticides. It is best to drink pure green tea without preservatives or other artificial flavors.

Teas have been found to have powerful effects on levels of cholesterol in the blood stream and on your health in general. Green tea in particular can also help in battling cancer. In Japan, it was discovered that drinking 10 or more cups of green tea daily delays the onset of cancer by some nine years among women and about three years in men.

Another source of good green tea is the high-grade tea sold at Japanese Tea Online. These are delicious teas and contain large amounts of polyphenols and flavoniods (catechins which are also immune system boosters), and natural vitamins and minerals. Catechins destroy free radicals. Green tea also has carotenoids, chlorophyll, polysaccharides natural vitamins C and E, manganese, potassium, and zinc, all essential to your health. Pure green tea is said to be 100 times more effective than vitamin C from other sources, and 25 times better than vitamin E from other sources.

You may find green tea mixed with other medicinal herbs in leading drug stores, but rarely can you find pure green tea sold alone. Green tea is usually sold in tea bags, but modern processing has made possible its liquefied form in bottles, and also its powdered form in sachet packages, without damaging its health and healing benefits.

Green tea and other natural food supplements carry micro nutrients that feed your immune system and strengthen your body cells. When the immune system becomes stronger, tissue and cell repair is enhanced in a way that the body retains the ability to heal itself; thus, ailments and even serious diseases are healed. It is not the food supplement itself that heals, but the empowered immune system.

A Japanese monk, Eisai, wrote in 1211 AD that (green) tea is a miraculous medicine for the maintenance of health. “Tea has the extraordinary power to prolong life. Anywhere a person cultivates tea, long life will follow.”
Eisai further wrote that tea in general was known as an elixir that created the “immortal” mountain dwellers.

In the 16th century, European explorers were said to have found that tea, especially green tea, was used to treat fever, headache, joint pains, and stomachaches and some other health ailments.Green tea, according to modern nutritionists and herbal medicine experts, can help prevent high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, heart ailments, skin diseases, and lung ailments. It actually delays the aging process. It eliminates distress by refreshing your mind and body.

Colloidal Minerals: Trace Minerals Lost From Our Diet, Found In Ancient Plants

Colloidal Minerals lost from our farming lands leave our crops devoid of essiential minerals required for good health. Now that we know the minerals are not in our food, where do we look to supplement our body needs? A look into plants millions of years old reveals a source available today...

Living a healthy life is a major challenge in our lives today. In spite of all the hype about a healthy diet, exercise and numerous supplements, good health in the true sense of the word still remains a cause of concern for all of us. All attempts to rid our bodies of diseases result either in partial success or in some other side effects. Every time the concept of a healthy mind in a healthy body evades us. To understand why this happens we must have an idea of what constitutes the human body and how it functions.

Colloidal mineral is trace mineral suspended in a liquid.

The human system requires various nutrients and micro-nutrients to function in an optimal manner. Some of these micro-nutrients are trace minerals, which are vital to the proper functioning of the body. Colloidal Minerals are needed to maintain the delicate cellular fluid balance, to form bone and blood cells, to provide for electrochemical nerve activity, and to regulate muscle tone and activity (including organ muscles like the heart, stomach, liver, etc.). Any imbalance in trace minerals causes a malfunction, which in scientific terminology is called disease. Here it is important to note that while our body is capable of synthesizing several essential compounds on its own, it is not capable of synthesizing its own minerals.

These colloidal minerals therefore must be supplied through the diet or supplements. But the unhealthy modern lifestyles and depleted foods are unable to provide sufficient supply of these trace minerals. In case of processed foods, which are so much in vogue these days the processing leaches out valuable trace minerals required by our bodies thus, necessitating supplementation. A normal diet does not contain the recommended daily dose (RDA) of most colloidal minerals and this makes supplementation crucial.

Research shows that an inadequate supply of trace minerals leads to a variety of diseases including depression, low back pain, arthritis, poor digestion, mental disorders and cardiovascular disease. Not surprisingly these studies also relate mineral deficiency to inadequate diet----foods which are nutrient-poor, highly processed foods including white flour, refined sugar and harmful fats.

Thus we see that colloidal minerals are exogenously sourced micro-nutrients crucial to the smooth execution of innumerable functions within the human body. These essential atomic particles are integral to maintaining tissues, producing energy, synthesizing hormones and repairing cellular damage. Colloidal Minerals also commonly partner with enzymes—intricate proteins produced by living cells—to catalyze biochemical reactions. Trace Minerals also help reduce the probability of all kinds of infections as they render valuable support to the immune system.

Coming to supplementation, the issue of bio-availability is of particular relevance. In simple words, these trace minerals will not be accepted by the human body in crude form. If taken as such they may result in toxicity. We therefore must study numerous factors that can affect mineral absorption, including overall health status, interaction with other nutrients, the presence of certain other diseases and conditions, age and delivery method.

Fortunately, mineral absorption can be increased in most individuals by learning how to take supplemental minerals, improving diet, obtaining adequate exercise, nutrition, rest and reducing stress.

Absorption is the key to colloidal mineral assimilation. If trace minerals are mined from hard rock minerals, the intake is not natural and could be toxic. Trace minerals are normally taken up into the plant, from the ground, through the root, into the leaf or fruit. Consumption of the edible part of the plant allows the colloidal mineral to be absorbed into the bloodstream.

Discovery of ancient plants rich in trace minerals have been unearthed and now are made available in a colloidal mineral solution. The body easily assimilates these colloidal minerals that are plant derived. This natural form of mineral is preferred by the body and will not cause toxicity when taken in the recommended amounts.

The following is a list of trace minerals that should be found in your choice for a colloidal mineral supplement:

Aluminum, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Bismuth, Boron, Bromine, Cadmium, Calcium, Carbon, Cerium, Cesium, Chloride, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Dysprosium, Erbium, Europium, Fluoride, Gadolinium, Gallium, Germanium, Gold, Hafnium, Holmium, Hydrogen, Indium, Iodine, Iridium, Iron, Lanthanum, Lead, Lithium, Lutetium, Magnesium, Manganese, Mercury, Molybdenum, Neodymium, Nickel, Niobium, Nitrogen, Osmium, Oxygen, Palladium, Phosphorus, Platinum, Potassium, Praseodymium, Rhodium, Rubidium, Ruthenium, Samarium, Scandium, Selenium, Silicon, Silver, Sodium, Strontium, Sulfur, Tantalum, Tellurium, Terbium, Thallium, Thorium, Thulium, Thulium, Tin, Titanium, Tungsten, Vanadium, Ytterbium, Yttrium, Zinc and Zirconium.

Look for as many of these minerals in your colloidal mineral supplement that are derived from plants.

Are the health supplements safe?

Moringa Leaves
Health supplements are now a common addition to our diet and in many situations they are the only solution to our health problems. However the Internet is simply flooded by SPAM and pop-up advertisements promising a quick relief from various illnesses if only we take............... health diet supplement and they are treated more and more like some kind of wonder pills. On the other hand, the benefits and dangers of using them are more and more discussed among physicians. The use of various supplements in bodybuilding process and the dangers of abusing them do not help.

The point is that health supplement really do work, but not for everybody and certainly they're not for every occasion.

Nutritional deficiencies
Basically dietary health supplements were originally developed by Nutrilite to help people overcome their nutritional deficiencies. If, for any reason, an individual is unable to follow a balanced diet, health supplements help them to keep your organism intact. However in most cases when an individual eats healthy food (a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. For example), health supplements are no longer needed and taking them will have only little effect (and not always a positive one).

Bodybuilding/fitness
Another common reason of taking health supplements is bodybuilding. When we want more than to be fit, the normal diet is not enough and we need to take something more serious if we hope to keep up the unhealthily quick pace of the muscles grow. That's where the health supplements come. However as they are often taken without any medical knowledge (and they need to be taken in large quantities if they are to have a visible effect), their final effects may no longer be positive.

Conclusion
In short, health supplements are OK, but only as long as people use them for the reasons they were made for - to fight nutritional deficiencies. Bodybuilding or the general need of feeling healthy are not good reasons for taking those pills (even herbal ones). Our body is a delicate mechanism and we shouldn't tinker in it too much without a serious reason.

He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything. - Arabian Proverb

Balance is everything.
A good health requires a balance in all these areas of our life.
  1. Emotional health
  2. Financial health
  3. Physical health
  4. Social health
  5. Spiritual health
Emotional health
Emotional health is an outcome of the food that we give to our mind.
In our everyday routine, we are faced with a lot of negativity. The negativity out numbers the positivity and the balance is disturbed.
Most of the negativeness that we allow our minds to be filled with, are avoidable.
It is  a well established fact that EQ is the biggest factor responsible for our success in any field. This is a subject which is not taught in our academic institutions. We learn and develop our EQ by observation and practice. Good books and good environment act as catalyst to our EQ development.
Our learning process is an outcome of:-
  1. What we see
  2. What we hear and
  3. What we read
What we see around us are "events". We do not have control over them but what really makes the difference is "How we react to them".
Seeing is the best way to learn. In one house, the mother puts efforts to keep the house neat and clean, stacks all things properly, cleans out ashtray and dust bins. The children see it and learn to do the same. In another house, the mother keeps telling everyone that the house is dirty and people should put the things in right place but herself throws around her belongings every where and does not make the effort to clean up the ash tray and dust bins which results in children also copying the same.
Movies, TV programs, News or Internet surfing are the biggest media for us to see. Be careful what you are seeing there.

We hear a lot of comments or opinions on "events". Most of them are negative comments. WHY? Because all our life we are trained to find faults. A teacher finds mistakes in the answer books and marks it with Red Ink. As supervisors in any field, we are looking at faults or people who are making mistakes. I am not saying that it is not required but then, we develop a habit of finding mistakes in every thing.
There was this father who kept criticizing his boss, his work environment, his colleagues etc. Grumbles when extra responsibility is given to him. What effect will it have on his children?
We must learn to lead by example
Either find what you love to do or start loving what you are doing.

What we read has a direct effect on our minds.
It is said that what ever we see or read before going to sleep, works on our sub conscious mind at sleep. We must read some motivating, inspirational or religious book for 15 minutes before sleeping.
These are two books that I will recommend to start with.

Financial Health. Finance is the single biggest component which effects all of us. The feeling of future insecurities causes stress. If you are young, get into the habit of saving and investing intelligently.
Read some life changing books on Financial education.
The books that I recommend are

Physical health. Our physical health depends on 3 main factors
  1. Food that we give to our brain. We all have heard that "Health is the Biggest Wealth" and yet we find our self so occupied in running after our job or our business in order to accumulate financial wealth that we don't have time to do physical exercise. Many of us feel lazy and find excuses. Feed our mind with importance of health and physical exercise.
  2. Food that we put in our stomach. Many of us have vehicles. If you come to know that a gas station is selling spurious gas, will you put that gas in your vehicle even though it may be cheaper? No!! Then why do we do that with our most expensive vehicle .. "Our Body"?? When it comes to medicines, we don't compromise but when it comes to food or health supplements.. we chose cheaper products. I must tell here that the nutritional value of food today has reduced by almost 50% because of agriculture methods, chemical fertilizers and cold storage that we use in this modern day. The leading health practitioners today advocate use of "Health Food Supplements" to augment the nutritional deficiencies.
  3. Regular exercise. Obesity is increasing rapidly because of the nature of our work and our "Food of Laziness" that we have given to our brain. If health is the biggest wealth then why are we not giving any time to build this wealth?
Social Health  Man being a social animal, wants a social life. An unhealthy minded person or a sick person does not enjoy a good social life.

Spiritual Health Again a very important factor in overall good health.

    Maqui berry

When diet is wrong medicine is of no use.
When diet is correct medicine is of no need.
    - Ancient Ayurvedic Proverb

    Maqui Berries
The history is that the berries were eaten by Mapuche Indians centuries ago for both their effects on general health and vibrancy (these are the kinds of Indians who could, at 60 and 70 years of age, run continually for DAYS at a time) as well as their medicinal and healing properties. the properties of this berry have been discovered and tested in the west. In short, the knowledge of the Indians was confirmed by numerous clinical studies.

Health benefits of Maqui Berries that have also been proven are widespread and far reaching. It’s benefits fall into 3 categories:

    1. Anti Aging: The high levels of antioxidants of Maqui Berries help prevent cellular decay within the body, and by doing so, reduce the signs of aging, and help maintain health and energy levels with age.

    2. Weight Loss: Cleansing the body of toxins frees the body’s natural processes to take place with greater efficiency. This means your metabolism can be sped up, and the excess fat being stored can be mobilized and hence shed more quickly than before.

    3. Increased Energy Levels: The antioxidants in Maqui Berries are said to increase energy levels and vitality.
